Getting Around Brisbane

Brisbane is a compact, connected city, ideal for walking and getting around via the many scenic river and bridge walks. The city’s efficient transport network makes it easy for visitors to find their way about the city. The conference venue, The Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE), 20 Cornwall St, Woolloongabba, is convenient for visitors with nearby access to a citywide transport network of buses, trains, taxis and the river’s high-speed CityCat service.

Please click here for more information on accessing PACE and an area map.

Go Card
Go card is your electronic ticket to travel on all TransLink bus, train (including Airtrain), CityCat, ferry and tram services in South East Queensland. It’s simple to use. All you need to do is top-up your card, touch on at the start of your journey and touch off at the end. Your fare is automatically calculated and deducted from your card balance and it’s cheaper than the cost of a paper ticket. You can purchase a go card for a refundable deposit of $10 (adult) or $5 (child, concession, senior), and they are available from retail locations such as 7-Eleven stores, Queensland Rail Station ticket offices, and on board CityCat river services.

Bus Services – The PA Hospital busway station is a 10 minute walk from PACE and provides efficient connections around the city. There are also two bus stops along Cornwall St.

Trains – PACE is located a short 2 minute walk from Dutton Park train station (accessible off Kent St), on the Beenleigh line. From Dutton Park, there are only two short stops until South Bank station or five stops until Central station.

CityCats – A popular and speedy way to travel the river. The CityCat terminal is located at the South Bank promenade, not far from The Wheel of Brisbane. CityCats operate daily from 5.30am to 10.30pm.

Taxi – Taxi ranks are located on Ipswich Rd, not far from where Ipswich St meets Cornwall St.

Uber – Uber has recently been legalised in Queensland and is another transport option in Brisbane. You can download the app and use it to request a driver to your location.
